Wynwood began for RETNA in 2009 with El Mac. Tony Goldman transformed a warehouse district in Miami into the largest outdoor gallery in the country, believing in the artists before many others did. He passed in 2012, and Wynwood lost its founder. El Mac and RETNA had not painted together in over ten years, until December 2025, when they returned to the same wall. The chemistry of a long-standing collaboration does not fade — the artists picked up where they left off. Wynwood changed Miami and how people think about neighborhoods and what art can do to a city block. RETNA was there early and keeps coming back.
