Row DTLA is a shopping and dining complex in the Arts District. They commissioned a large-scale mural from RETNA for the exterior wall facing the courtyard. He painted his script across the full facade — white on black, tall letters reaching up three stories. The Arts District is where many of LA's street artists started. Seeing RETNA's work there, permanent, on a building that thousands of people walk past every day — that is the kind of impact he values. Not a gallery where one needs to make an appointment.
